Hoosier State Training LLC provides firearm instruction for individuals and groups including business and church security teams for self-defense. The training encompasses safe, effective use of a handgun, rifle and shotgun for first-time firearm owners and experienced shooters alike. Training can be provided on-site, at an indoor shooting range or at a designated HST LLC range.

Self-Defense Handgun Basics

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense Handgun Basics is intended for the first-time handgun owner with access to limited ammunition. The training introduces the basics of handgun shooting and requires no prior experience. This class will prepare a person for HST Self-Defense Handgun I.

This course lasts approximately 2 hours.

Self-Defense Handgun II builds upon the fundamental skills learned in Handgun I to enhance weapon manipulation proficiency and introduces dynamic shooting platforms. This training is preparatory for advanced level training.

Handgun Qualification Course

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense Handgun Qualification Training provides instruction to complete every stage of the HST Handgun Qualification course. Successful completion of HST Self-Defense Handgun I or equivalent prior experience is required. Each individual will have two qualification attempts to pass the course.

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense AR Carbine introduces the skills to safely handle an AR-15 carbine/rifle, fundamentals of rifle shooting for self-defense, effective weapon manipulation and dynamic shooting platforms.

This courses lasts approximately 8 hours.

Optic Equipped Handgun

OVERVIEW

HST Self-Defense Optic Equipped Handgun will train you to achieve maximum performance using your pistol-mounted optic. Participants should have a solid handgun shooting fundamentals foundation and safe firearm manipulation skills. Prior training is required to be eligible to attend this course. Contact HST to discuss eligibility. The class is approximately 4 hours, and the cost is $90 per person.

HST Steel Challenge Workshop

OVERVIEW

HST is hosting the opportunity to train with Steel Challenge Grand Master John Renner USPSA/ SCSA #TY135978.  This workshop is for shooters who want to learn how to get started in Steel Challenge competitions.  It’s also for competitors who want to polish their skills and techniques to advance to the next level of speed shooting.  While the class is primarily oriented towards the Carry Optics Division (optic equipped service pistols), the skills and techniques are applicable to any division.  The course is approximately 4 hours, and the cost is $100 per person.

This workshop is an intermediate level class and requires completion of HST Self-Defense Handgun I or equivalent training/ experience to participate.  Contact HST to discuss eligibility.

Self-Defense Tactical Shotgun

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense Tactical Shotgun focuses on the skills to deploy a shotgun in a high stress environment, fundamentals of tactical shotgun shooting, effective weapon manipulation, dynamic shooting platforms and transitioning from the tactical shotgun to a handgun (handgun is not required to participate in the class). 

The course lasts approximately 8 hours.

ADVANCED APPLICATION COURSES

Advanced Application Courses are not designed for novice shooters and requires demonstration of strong gun handling skills prior to acceptance into the class. The course will be physically demanding, and before acceptance into these courses, you must be approved by Hoosier State Training.

Self-Defense Handgun Combatives is an advanced application course that focuses on weapon manipulation and problem solving for real world threats while carrying a handgun concealed. The class covers advanced techniques for close quarters gun fighting.  This course lasts approximately 4 hours.

Self-Defense Darkness Gunfighting

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense Darkness Gunfighting is an advanced applications handgun and/ or carbine course that focuses on weapon manipulation and problem solving for real world threats in both daylight and darkness. The class covers advanced techniques for tactical flashlights and weapon lights, light dominance, movement and weapon manipulation in both daylight and darkness settings. The students will build on existing skills learned in foundation level classes and then integrate light/ illumination techniques, movement, communication and shooting.

This course lasts approximately 4 hours.

Self-Defense Vehicle and Darkness Gunfighting

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense Vehicle and Darkness Gunfighting is a weapon manipulation class for real world threats in both daylight and darkness. This advanced application course focuses on weapon light tactics, light/illumination techniques and movement within, around and through a vehicle. Advanced carbine and handgun manipulation techniques are integrated throughout the course. Participant’s choice on using carbine and/or handgun in the class.

Self-Defense Trauma and Tactics (Handgun)

OVERVIEW

Self-Defense Trauma & Tactics focuses on the skills, tactics and techniques to render self-aid and buddy-aid for critical injuries and stay in the fight. Primary and support side shooting and manipulating of a handgun while injured in a high stress environment is the main training objective. Emergency trauma medical skills using equipment available under field conditions will be covered. The training will culminate with drills teaching the shooter how to solve real world situations.

This course lasts approximately 8 hours.
