State Funded Teacher Firearm Training
Train and Equip Your Teachers to Protect Your Students
With the recent rise in school shootings, Governor Holcomb and the State of Indiana released a bill that allows a school corporation, charter school, or accredited nonpublic school to apply for a grant to train, equip, and prepare their administration and teachers to protect the students in their care.
In order to fully prepare your school, we are happy to announce that we offer a 40 hour curriculum, lead by professional firearm teacher and instructor, Dan Burch, that will ensure that your teachers are ready to protect and defend.
What This Course Covers
Safe handling, carrying, and storage of firearms
General care of firearms and basic firearm cleaning, oiling, preventative maintenance and repair
Basic marksmanship training that includes annual completion of the HST Handgun Qualification Course and scenario-based training
Dynamic shooting drills that include shooting in a high-stress environment and high populated environments.
Tactical movement and maneuvering while armed to include presentation and manipulation of a firearm while moving in hallways, at room entrances, in open spaces and venues and in restricted spaces and areas.
Training on the legal consequences of a use of force action.
Discussion on post-shooting considerations and consequences, such as psychological and emotional responses following a use of force incident.
Tactical emergency medical care skills in order to care for those who were injured in an active shooter situation.
