Event Details:
HST is hosting the opportunity to train with Steel Challenge Grand Master John Renner USPSA/ SCSA #TY135978. This workshop is for shooters who want to learn how to get started in Steel Challenge competitions. It’s also for competitors who want to polish their skills and techniques to advance to the next level of speed shooting. While the class is primarily oriented towards the Carry Optics Division (optic equipped service pistols), the skills and techniques are applicable to any division. The course is approximately 4 hours, and the cost is $100 per person.
This workshop is an intermediate level class and requires completion of HST Self-Defense Handgun I or equivalent training/ experience to participate. Contact HST to discuss eligibility.

- Speed shooting fundamentals
- First-shot acquisition
- Trigger control
- Proper target engagement
- Instruction on 2 of the 8 Steel Challenge stages
- Learn what it takes to become a Steel Challenge Grand Master
Needed equipment:
- Handgun
- Three magazines minimum
- 450 handgun rounds
- Handgun holster with full trigger guard coverage
- Hat, eye and ear protection
- Refreshments and water
