Range Safety Protocols & Rules
A safe and enjoyable training environment is paramount. Therefore, please review the HST Safety Protocols and Safety Rules.
Safety Protocols
- Shoulder holsters and cross draw holsters are not allowed.
- Handguns must have a holster with full trigger guard coverage & good retention.
- All firearms are to be unloaded prior to and after your participation in the competition event.
- Participants that are disregarding the safety protocols and safety rules will be disqualified from the competition and asked to leave the property without refund.
Safety Rules
- Treat every firearm as if it loaded. The firearm must be pointed in a safe direction at all times.
- Do not put your finger on the trigger until the muzzle is pointed at the target and you have the intent to shoot the firearm.
- If you drop the firearm, do not try to stop it from falling. Let it fall to the ground.
- Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction if hot brass falls on your skin.
- Do not load the firearm until given the range command to do so.
- Do not pick up anything on the ground while on the firing line until you are given the range command to do so.
- Do not press the trigger after administratively unloading the firearm.
